Working Hard to Look Relaxed :)

I’m in the middle of editing my friend Laetitia’s Dance Journey podcast episode, and there’s a part where she’s talking about how it’s a lot of work for a dancer to make their face look relaxed. I know this is true for myself because I’m often focused so hard on getting the steps right that my face looks super stressed.

So I know I need to work on that in dance. But just now I was also thinking that maybe I should try to appear relaxed about my whole life, because I’m generally super focused and have ten thousand things to do and often feel a bit overwhelmed. And I’m sure my face shows it!

Especially if someone happens to “interrupt” me in the middle of my ten thousand things. My face probably says, “I don’t have time for you” or “omigosh, I’m so stressed out.” But what if instead of trying so hard to figure out how to be relaxed, I just focus on working hard to appear relaxed. I guess that’s sort of a fake-it-til-you-make-it mentality, but I think that might be a good challenge for me right now.
